Inception - The App: Africa Dream →
No feature has been so controversial in Inception - The App than the Africa Dream. In order to unlock it, you must physically be on the continent of Africa (as determined by your GPS and Google geolocation results). It makes sense: part of the film takes place in Mombassa, Africa is a very big place, and it fits artistically with what the app was trying to achieve. But you’d think us fools...

“The difference between audio processing and telecommunications is a factor of a...”
– Me. I’ve long noticed, since beginning work at RjDj in 2009, that all of the theory, math, and principles behind the telecommunications that I learned in university apply just the same to audio processing. The only difference is that in music you deal with frequencies of kilohertz and in...

This is my presentation from Android Only back in October 2010. Apparently it has been posted some time ago, but I just found out! Many thanks to Peter Svensson for organising the conference and inviting me. The title is: Programming Audio for Android: An Introduction to Music Programming Languages for Android via RjDj

Bourne & Hollingsworth →
If you’re looking for an absolutely delicious drink near the British Museum/Holborn/Goodge Street, look no further than the Bourne & Hollingsworth. Hidden away downstairs, tucked away in a well-decorated corner, make sure to confirm your reservation if you plan on staying longer. Very reasonably priced and well worth the visit.

A recommended design shop, err…, officially maybe. For me it is a quiet coffee with a place to sit and read. Check it out near the top of Brick Lane, East London.

NPR Interview with Terre Thaemlitz →
I’ve been a proud fan of Terre’s since 1994, when some of his tracks made it onto the Instinct Ambient compilations.

How to Make Wealth →
I very much enjoyed this old (but new to me) read. It certainly reflects how I feel these days. The key is to be able to trade off leverage, measurement, and short and long-term earnings. From the article: We would have much preferred a 100% chance of $1 million to a 20% chance of $10 million, even though theoretically the second is worth twice as much. Unfortunately, there is not currently any...
