The Soundtrack to your Life is Coming…
I’m very excited to have the opportunity to speak at the City University of Hong Kong on Friday, May 6, hosted by Samson Young. I am also lucky to speak with William Lane of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and Shane Levesque from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. The abstract for the talk is below:
Recorded music is irrelevant, digital music constantly adapts itself to you, and you can interact with your music in ways what were previously reserved only for “musicians”. The opportunity for the layperson to easily create and enjoy music is returning in ways that have been steadily lost over the course of the 20th century. In addition to the coming of this new style of “reactive music”, modern mobile technology has made it possible for the Cloud to know almost everything about you, including what music you are listening to and what comes next. The soundtrack to your life is coming and all that you need is a mobile phone.
